Rajanna-Sircilla: The Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada is set to introduce break darshan for devotees starting Monday, coinciding with the auspicious beginning of Sravana Masam. Temple authorities have finalized all necessary arrangements, allowing devotees to have a special darshan from 10:15 am to 11:15 am in the morning and 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the evening. The fee for this exclusive darshan has been set at Rs 300 per pilgrim.
The decision to introduce the break darshan system aims to enhance facilities for the increasing number of devotees visiting the shrine daily. Temple authorities submitted a proposal to the state Endowment Department and, after receiving approval from higher officials, have implemented the break darshan facility.
Vemulawada's temple, revered as Dakshina Kashi, sees a significant influx of devotees daily, with numbers ranging from 20,000 to 30,000. The count surges on Mondays, considered auspicious for the presiding deity, Lord Shiva. Pilgrims from neighboring states such as Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Chhattisgarh also frequent the shrine.
During the three-day Maha Shivaratri Jatara, the temple witnesses lakhs of devotees, with a similar rush observed before the biennial tribal fair, Sammakka-Sarakka Jatara. It is a tradition in North Telangana for devotees to visit the Vemulawada Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple before proceeding to the Sammakka-Sarakka Jatara. The temple also experiences heavy footfall during festivals and throughout the month of Sravana Masam.
The introduction of break darshan is expected to streamline the darshan process and provide a more organized and fulfilling experience for pilgrims visiting this revered shrine.
